Re: Pharaonic Arrogance (MUST WATCH)
I guess we interpreted or comprehended the message of the video differently.
I understood the lecture to be one about cockiness, scholars of past, etc.
I did not really get 'salafi' from it. When I posted what I posted, regarding the title being the personal opinion of the user, it was not to come off as a criticism.
I understand that brother and don't take this as an attack but please indulge me on this..
Why did you not really get 'salafi' (or rather pseudo-salafi) from it, when the speaker Abdul Hakim Murad is clearly talking about the fallacy of those who attribute themselves falsely to the salaf us saliheen? Is it because you don't know about those who ascribe themselves falsely to the salaf or is it because you don't believe that the ones who call themselves salafi are doing this particular fallacy?
Am not trying to start a debate here but if there is a group of people who consistently disrespect the historical scholars as authority (or choose extracts of information from the selectively) and thus 'backbiting' them, it would be the wahabi/salafi regime and those who follow them, aspire to be like them, support them, respect them or praise them.
What they are doing is a bad innovation, by going outside the realms of the imams of ahle sunnah.
The typical ghair-muqalideen do not follow the four mujathideen because the do not want to do taqleed upon the four imams. What utter disgrace and shameful act is this? This fallacy is a bidah (dalala) and even so it is hypocritical. It is hypocritical because they do taqleed on imam Bukhari, Muslim radi allahu anhu etc. but they do not wish to do taqleed upon the four mujtahideen?? Furthermore they do taqleed on ibn taymiya, qayim, abdul wahab an najdi, baz and the one called al-albani! This is the fallacy Abdul Hakim Murad is talking about. They do not wish to do taqleed upon any of the sunni imams unless it corroborates what the likes of uthaymeen, bin baz, albani etc. etc. say! This is the fallacy
. If you do not agree with me that this is the fallacy which Abdul Hakim Murad talks about, do reply and we'll sort it out inshallah.
