Topic Title - Visions and dreams

What does Islam say about the people who not look into the future but look back into the past, the ones who get deep visions or dreams about it in one way or the other.

Thanx,
wali

If you are experiencing visions of the past and/or of the future and you are not following the islamic sharia (essentially trying to please God and His Prophet) then its is understood that these are inspirations from the devil and cannot be trusted.

Im finding it difficult to grasp what you are asking.
Could you possibly re-phrase the question ?

This is a most difficult topic.

What is meant by 'visions of the past', for example?

Do they have the quality of a memory?

(If so, they could be memories of previous lives.)

The question is what Knowledge is conveyed by such experiences?

And how does that Knowledge conform to or contradict Revelations which have previously been received by the prophets?

I would say look for no sign and follow none. No matter how tempting or alluring. The sun, moon, sea and stars are enough for any person in seeing the glory of God. As Jesus said only a wicked generation asks for a sign.

Let yourself be a sign to others :)

Tony-This is just my own personal opinion. No one can instruct anyone in the thoughts and actions of our Lord God. We are allowed to caution and be vigilant tho.....

Salaam all,
I once had a dream that I was walking down this tunnel, like the one footie players walk out of, and seeing the Ka'aba in front of me. I remember the happiness I felt and that I cried. I read in a book about Islamic Dream Interpretation that if you see the Ka'aba in your dream, it means you're in a state of peace.

So I hope this helps you:
Hadrat Ja'far Sadiq Radi Allahu anhu has stated that to see hajj being performed in a dream has the following meanings:

1) To become married
2) To buy a maiden
3) To see a just king
4) To do good
5) To make an effort to do good
6) To gain the benefit of a reward
7) To be in the presence of the people of knowledge

Lailah

Couple of months ago two brothers had a fight because one of them got drunk... later on that night I had a dream that the brother who got drunk was talking to a very pious man... I have no idea what it means.

I have had my share of strange life like dreams. When i was about 16 years old i had a dream were i was performing ablution when suddenly the waterflow stopped. I am still struggling to make my salah completely. And i'm 33 now. But Alhamdullilah a few years ago i had a clear dream again. This time i performed a full wudu on a friday( it was time for the friday prayer). Another strange thing is in that same dream i saw a good friend of mine( not muslim) waiting me infront of my house. His face was radiant and smiling. Subhanallah i still see it so clearly. I also have seen the last day in my dreams. It was dark and i had a train to catch( leaving this world) i was in the train but suddenly i realised that my family was not with me. So i got out to look for them. When i turned my head again towards the train they were sitting inside the train with sad faces. Then i woke.

Unread post End Time Visions, Dreams & NDE
I have read a lot of the Christians prophetic visions, dreams & Near Death Experience (NDE) regarding the end times but found very few from the Moslems especially in the area of NDE. People told about the light, went through tunnel and some receive messages/visions of future cataclysm from beings of light. Any of u guys Moslem here have those experiences? It would be great if u could share & discuss it here.

I'm going to sound like a complete nutter when I say this. But I have an ability to see/hear spirits. I got one which follows me around from time to time stating there name is Vada'shema. No idea what region of the earth they claim to be from. Obviously not Australian. Obviously you guys are going to say fallen angel etc, I wouldn't be surprised freaks me out even.

Seen the spirit for like a year or so now. Probably why I can't sleep to well now days. I'm not Muslim or Christian. Used to be Christian. I know its not what you asked for but yeah, I believe in that kind of stuff. I kind of got to...

I have always been able to recognize that I'm in a dream, and then control most things in them, how to do it I have no explanation.
