Unread post Strange Nightmare
Salaam

a little bit long story but please just read it. maybe one day you get the same problem too.

Has anyone ever had a strange nightmare where he feels like he is in fact awake, but just can't open eyes, just can't say something, just can't move while you want to do these things so bad because of some kind of being is holding you or pushing or whatever, so hard and powerfully and at the same time you feel this being very close to you, matter of fact it feels as of that being has literally contact with you both physically and spiritually?

and the strange feeling of being locked up physically, and a little confused fearly feeling that makes you think; what the heck is happening, am i getting possessed by a Djinn/demon?

this here.. i experienced it last night.
many people are talking about these stuff sometimes that a spirit or some kind of demon had pushed or hold them so hard and heavely that they couldn't move nor speak or shout out for help even if they wanted to so badly and tried so badly.

i also had the same thing going on, as hard as i tried i couldn't move or open my eyes. only thing that was going on was a very very powerful strange feeling that a spiritual being is right next to you, and even touching you. and ofcourse while i was aware and awake of the situation, i couldn't speak or shout out. but at the same time i had hallucination of being grasped physically from my back so tight, heavly and powerful that i had no chance of getting rid of it. and ofcourse it was like as of i was getting tortured and thus i was making strange noise, as of i was so tired and tortured. but that noise was only heard during the hallucination. time to time i managed to get rid of the hallucination for a couple of seconds, but it didn't took long till i entered the hallucination state again.

then i felt gaining my consciousness more and more back again as of i was finally getting rid of it. and just at that time i started to recite Surah Nas and Surah Felak and Ayat el kursi and Al Fatiha and whatever came to my mind.
suddenly i managed to open my eyes. and just then i had my power back to move/look/say something. i was laying on my rightside, and when i opened my eyes, i first looked infront of me for a couple of seconds thinking about what the heck just did happened to me with a little fear and strange feeling.

then i was touched 3 times on my left hip WHILE my eyes were open. first two was not so bad. but the third touch brought an insane feeling through my whole body as of spiritual energy or influence went through my whole body like some kind of electricity. and ofcourse that annoying feeling that something the f*** is right behind your back.

when that happened, i was $&%( of and turned to my left side. was getting angry but still a had a little fear and a doubtful mind because something was really going wrong there..
when i turned to my left side, i again recited some surahs and i made a Dua deep from my heart saying:
"oh allah protect my from the harm of the unseen" and the rest what i said i do not really remember.
and then a strange noise was again going on through the whole room non stop, a sharp disturbing sound. but i ignored that.

and i fel in sleep again.

this is making me so bussy in my head for the whole day now. my mother sais to me that i should stop thinking about it. but i couldn't.
at the evening i went back up to my bedroom to pick up some of my clothes, and the moment i opened the door, i instantly had to think about the situation that did happen to me. and again a little fear had took over my heart.

wich pisses me off.

anyone had a similar nightmare?

what should we do when we have to deal in the middle of the night with such things?
any idea's?

Some people will say this is a "night terror" which is a sleep disorder that causes the sleeper to be paralized and feel there is an evil presence holding them down.

Others will say that a jinn is messing with you.

Personally i agree with the 2nd theory.
It sounds like you have a good idea of what to do, by reciting quran and asking Allah's protection. You may need to have a ruqya performed on you, to get the jinn away for good.

May Allah swt protect you and keep you safe ameen.

i have had 2 dreams a lot like what you are describing now but without a physical touch sensation. in the dreams i had what i would refer to as a demon speaking to me and demanding things from me that i refused. the strangest part is later i woke up in a way that i could not open my eyes or move my body or even breath and the dream continued while i was awake and consious. in my heart i knew that if i called out to the name of jesus that i would be set free instantly but i did not, and i am not saying that it is better that i did not. instead i focused all my will into moving one part of my body which turned out to be my finger once and my back on the second dream. when i moved just a little bit i was instantly released. i could feel it in my body and in my mind. it was as if a rubber band had streched as far as it could and finally broked or snapped. it was terrifing and oppressive and i did feel as if there was somthing standing over me with an extreme hatred towards my life and spiritual existence. please get this taken care of as soon as you can bro. peace.

Sleep paralysis, looks like a new friend has visited you, a ghul jinn. The last time i had sleep paralysis was just this week. Recite ayatul kursi before go to sleep and be in state of wudhu.

Since i've no qu'ran i spoke out(which was hard btw) bismillah irrahman irrahim and it was gone Alhamdulillah

Ruqiya is good if one is possessed and ruqiya will only get rid of some jinn (those who are present at the time ruqiya is being done), there are jinn who only come comes and leaves, that type of jinn one can not get rid of unless ruqiya done while present in the person.

I personally haven't experienced the sleep disorders Alhamdulliah, and InshaAllhah never want to experience it but my brother had major problems with "sleep paralysis". He often felt as if something was sitting on his chest and he couldn't move, breathe or scream. He felt presences. I too felt it a lot with the hair raising at the back of my neck for no reason and feeling as if somehing is watching you. Saw shadows running by sometimes. Happened for years and we never told our parents because we were quite young then and didn't think they would believe us. I ended up telling and and our parents got an Imam to recite the Quran in our house and Subhanallah whatever it was stopped bothering us. Recite or play Surah Al Baquarah in your room or house every night for three nights straight. Insha Allah it should stop any unwanted presence from returning.

Oh this is one of my top favorite subjects! Why?

Because i have had these since i was 10 years old and it just got worse and worse from different periods. I could have this happening to me everytime i sleep and i have been able to try so many stuff so that i know what helps me the most to get out of this mess.

When i was kid, i didnt knew more than Al-fatiha. So that was the only thing i used to recite. And you also hear alot of screaming, pressure on ur ear!

Now as i said i have tried so many stuff since i literally had this problem every night. I have even sang to the djinn haha since i was so tired of this always happening.

First few times will be the hardest one for you but u will outcome since u will understand bit more how to end it. Usually when this stuff happens nowadays for me i end it within 5 seconds :D.

The way it works is that a djinn sits on ur chest (this nightmare mostly happens when u sleep on ur back, but it have happend to me few times when i wasnt sleeping on my back). by him sitting on ur chest, u cant move or do anything except think. U cant even speak or anything except than hearing ur thoughts and this is where the funny thing is... The djinn also hears ur thoughts! I have also heard that people say that u harm the djinn as if he was infront of u when u recite quran in the dream.

So for next time, for ur protection just recite Athan ;).
First times it can require more than athan but athan is what i have found the best way/strongest to say/do. If it doesnt stop at athan, then just keep reciting quran and u will wake up. Eachtime this happens, it will get easier and u will wake up much faster. At least i can barely finish saying "Allah" before waking up.

I never had the paralizing feeling, but sometimes i get woken up by a loud voice that says my name, and sometimes i feel like something is trying to hurt me so i wake myself up by jumping or falling out of the bed, onto the floor :P

When i was a kid i used to see jinns in my room while i went to sleep, and heard them whispering.

Sleep paralysis is actually quite a common occurance. It only happened to me once - but I never forgot it.

No one ever does... In most (if not all cases) no harm is done. The Jinn that try to get in to you, are not strong enough and only attack you when your spritual gateway os open to their world - but Allah has set a barrier between them and you. Your imaan.

These jinn that cause the sleep paralysis are often referred to as ghouls - derived from the Arabic word, Ghul: غول

I recall that just a few days back, Bushwackk was speaking to someone on this forum about it. Let me link you.

There's also one more thread which touches on it, search terms "Sleep Paralysis" highlighted in following link: http://www.wup-forum.com/viewtopic.php? ... is#p232199

Also, this probably isn't for everyone but I have a picture of the Ayat al Kursi on my wall but I think anything with the name of Allah (swt) on it should be helpful in keeping away any unwanted presence from your bedroom or where you sleep. But you have to have the belief and faith in your heart first and foremost in order to protect yourself. Its funny because I hear a lot of stories from friends about similar experiences they had as well as kids and somehow we never forget them no matter how old we get. We had no idea what was happening at the time but as we get older we begin to rationalize what happened a bit better.

something similar happened to me about a year or two ago
it was just i had a really bad dream
then i was in sub conscious i mean i knew it was just a dream and i am sleeping........ and i wanted to wake up but even struggling so hard for so long i couldn't just open my eyes
...but eventually i woke up
it happened when i didn't believe in divinity and spirituality and paranormal stuff so i definitely didn't think a djinn have appeared but well nothing happened after that.
the point is these things happen
if you encounter such a situation and wake up in the midst of night read
'audu bi kalimatillahit tammati min ghazbihi wa 'aqibihi wa sharri 'ibadihi wa min hamazatish shayateeni wa ien yahzurun
or
'audu bi kalimatillahit tammatil lati la yujaawizu hunna barrun wala fajirum min sharri ma yanzilu minas samaai wama ya'ruju feeha wa min sharri fitanil laili wan nahari wa min kulli tariqin illa tariqan yatruqu bikhairi ya rahman

plus according to another hadith after seeing a bad dream, spit towards your left side three times and change your position. and from another hadith seek refuge in Allah saying 'audu billali min sharrish shaitani wa sharriha

You don't have to do ruqya. This is quite common as scimi said. And its the weakest kind of jinn, so no worries.

dang..

all these creepy stories...
im glad that these things are exposed and known.
otherwise i would end up hitting the walls with my head, trying to figure out the situation lol..

but for real, these are things you shouldn't make fun of...
i always wondered how it felt and how it happend to other people when they were talking about it.
they were making it as scary as possible with their tongue.
but when it happend to me not long ago, i swear i dont even want to mention the name of these kinds of things.
and it's not that its sooo scary, it's just way too disturbing and haunting.
a whole mind puzzling situation. the worst of all, you can't see that annoying being when you try to.
if i had seen him while i could move, nothing would hold me back from choking it, atleast i would have tried!

i did this 2 days after it happend, and no jinn came to visit again.
