You mean are we from Ahlulbayt?

I'm a distant relative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani.

My tree returns to Imam Retha (pbuhaf) - the (8th Imam and) 7th descendant of Rasulollah (pbuhaf).

But I really feel ashamed of myself... from Imam Sadiq (pbuh):

"Good deeds are good, but from you they are better, for you are close to us. And evil deeds are evil, but from you they are WORSE, for you are close to us."

With what face will I meet them on the day of Judgement...

"And if you could but see the guilty, lowering their heads before their Lord..."

no i mean taking the bait from someone

The tradition of bay'ah can be traced back to the era of Muhammad ( s.w.a). From the beginning bay'ah was taken by the prophet as an oath of allegiance. Anybody who wanted to enter the new religion, Islam, did so by reciting the basic statement of the faith expressing his faith in the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad ( s.a.w). In addition to this the prophet formally took bay'ah from the people and tribes. Through this formal act they entered the Islamic community and showed their willingness to follow and obey the prophet. The wordings of the oath differ in different traditions but it contains the shahadah and prayers of repentance.

so the bay'ah that hazrat Ali ( r.a) took from the prophet (s.a.w) and became a muslim i am from his chin of spiritual sons ( students)
and ( this is the best part ) hazrat Ail's ( r.a) hands touch the prophet's ( s.a.w) hands then to his chin - that i put up - down to my hands ( knowing that makes me so happy Alhamdulillah ) :D

I'm sorry... I don't understand.

From Rasulollah (pbuhaf) in the Saheeh:
"Whoever dies without allegiance to the Imam of his time has died the death of ignorance (Jahiliyah)"

Brother, according to my belief (as you may know by now), the Imam/Khalifa is appointed by Allah (swt) and has special characteristics.

"And when Abraham's Lord tested him with words, and he fulfilled them, He said: I am appointing you an Imam for the people..."

The allegiance I have is to Imam Mahdi.

But you said you took bay'ah (allegiance) with these "khalifas" ??
Do you mean they are the successors to Rasulollah (pbuhaf)??
What do you mean? I didn't understand.

Brother Sayyid, for what it is worth, I hope Allah will bless you and your family for you're work here on this forum. I've been reading SO MANY of the posts and debates on here, and I think i'm learning from very honest, knowledgeable, sincere people.
Please know that your analysis I feel is very straightforward, and looks at both sides of the "argument", and bases your conclusions on logic, and the basics. I hope everyone here knows just how much they have helped me.
I could not have found better people to welcome me to Islam.
WASALAAM TO ALL!!

AL-ISNAD FI AHWALIDDIN....

I think the 'bait' he meant there is the bai'ah/bayyath....

With the unbroken chains (SANAD) from the Soliheen, Salafussoleh and some may be even Auliyaullah Al-Soliheen (that more often than not, also include Al-Hasanis and Al-Husaynis)....ultimately that leads towards the prime source of Lights of all Lights....Prophet Muhammad sollallahu alaihi wasallam.

This is what is missing in the majority of Muslims the world over today....they seek knowledge without looking for the unbroken chain from Rasulullah sollallahu alaihi wasallam....that explains the sheer ZULAM (Darkness) engulfing Muslims in the Modern World.

We tend to take our Sanad from the Kuffars which laugh as you may, could even lead to Al-Masikh Dajjal  alaihi la'natullah without us realizing it. (not a joke but a sad reality)

Insha Allah later on, I will reveal the Sanad of my Shaykh...

i have different family members and friends who have a sheikh,
one of them follows the nimatullahi order, another follows the naqshabendi order, my father and grandfather also used to have a sheikh, i need to ask my mum who he is since they are are not alife anymore....

i have always felt the need for this for guidance "not for intermediating" to Allah, but so far i have been moving from one to another, perhaps due to my traveling life...i have learned a lot from their books and speeches.

one of the best advices they gave me once is: i dont care what path you choose as long as you make a choice and stick to it so you can progress and see with the spiritual eye...if you dig one hole for 2 min in different locations you will never find water.....focus on one well and keep digging...water will come soon....

.....and Allah knows best

salaam,

sister sacnoon, i think u misunderstood what the OP is saying, hes not talking about descendants of P. Mohammad pbuh, or whtever (is that even important up until todays generation???)

re-read what he wrote...and Sheikh Hasan Al-Basri ra may not be directly related to P. Mohammad pbuh, but one only needs to look at how (circumstances) P. Mohammad pbuh praised this man to know that he is one of the greatest Muslims to ever walk this earth
