Ever felt so content and satisfied?

May it be an achievement? Having a numinous feeling? Settling down? Or even gotten what you wished for!

What makes YOU feel at peace, more importantly, what makes you smile about something only you can relate to?

For me, well.. completing all 8 exams and coming to reality once more! A huge burden off my shoulders, giving me more time- well, to spend doing useful stuff.. like coming here more often :twisted:

And realizing you can never be alone in life (:

But yeah, PLEASE share your experiences.. if not then.....

.........make something up :thumbup:

Definitely get what you mean there. I do miss that feeling at times. :)

My most recent experience of feeling absolute peace was when I started reading the Quran more and was granted the blessing of understanding what were really said, Alhamdulillah. ^_^

Others include *seeing my loved ones happy;
*the sincere smile & kind words of a family member or a friend or sometimes even a stranger;
*moments of reflections especially done at the beach on a cool afternoon;
*inside jokes :) ;
*certain childhood moments;
*unforgettable desserts;
*moments of epiphany;
*some of the things I've read here as well as the ones I've gotten to know.
*to finally see my name in
PINK :lol:

I am sure there are many more. I'm just enveloped in a warm and fuzzy feeling now that I can't really think straight. :D Thanks for the wonderful topic~ It's nice to go back to those moments. :)

Well lately my life seems to be comprised of a cacophony of anxious and anticipatory events. You're either preparing for things to happen or you're waiting for things to be revealed. Either in college work and when I'm off college (as of now) it seems to be worries about the future which seem to include everything from college and family matters to the matters of my desperate deen and iman.

And hence I constantly find myself seeking for the peace and tranquillity which seem to becoming an ever elusive entity in this world. This has infact become my primary goal for this summer. Try to even out my life so I can finally start placing all the different pieces together and start to finally see things more clearly.

I guess its the nature of time that I'm getting to know more than anything else and its that I don't have much of it. Its slipping faster through my fingers the tighter I try to grasp onto it like fine of sands. In this modern life how can man find the time to sit back and contemplate upon the wonders of God's creation? Especially when every aspect of modernity seems to be challenging the creator himself!

Yet among all this discordance there is the one cord that resonates with the remnants of the core of my being, my heart. Although dusty and obscured under many layers of earthly flesh and the superficiality and concerns of this world, the core still seeks and tries to find peace in the unity and might of his creator.

It is remembrance and reliance upon Allah that ultimately can one find peace in. A complete relinquishment of yourself to your creator and putting all your trust in every single constituent of your life in his hands. You know you are not alone in this woeful world but the command of your life and everything is in the power of Allah alone and reliance on the fact that whatever he will do will always be what is best for you because Allah loves his creation and he always does what is best for those who believe in him. Allah is the one who is constantly creating and destroying everything that exists and he is the one who has decided your destiny. Allah is just and merciful. Whatever he does will be the best for you.

There isn't enough time for one to reflect upon this fact. Yet one can take comfort in this knowledge that all his matters are in the hands of Allah and he will only do what is best for you.

Sorry for adding all the initial negativity there. Its just been a fairly stressful few months for me.

Anyway, I try to find peace through performing the prayers on time and trying to spend most of my time listening to lectures which help me improve my knowledge of Allah and of my deen and help me figure out how to better live my life.

I also like playing Need for Speed but I'm not sure if its exactly peace or distraction that it gives me! :p
