Thank you, bro. No worries on the spelling of my name. :D It's good to be back. :)

I could've waited but I think my Dad felt sorry for us since we slaved all night cleaning the house. Hehehhee. None of us brought our phone that day, if I'm not mistaken, so when we got home, we were surprised and glad to find out that my older sister woke up early and prepared a little something for our Eid breakfast (bless her!). We ended up having a lot of fried chicken that day. *lol*

Oh, home cooked and local meals are still the best of course especially the ones usually prepared for Eid. Most of us will probably be really stuffed this weekend since there are a lot of open houses we're invited to, alhamdulillah. :)

I am curious as well. I did spend Eid in Tokyo once back in 2007 and that was a bit depressing. lol! The mood was only felt when I went to the Embassy on the first day. After that, it was filled with tears especially when I had to talk to the family via Skype. I always hear it's much better in the UK from family and friends who study and live there. Please do tell! :D

Asalaam Alae'kum...

Sorry for being away myself for a day or two :-P no one missed me but that is fine :-) Haha. Eid's gone.. Ahh' and those days have come again where our bodies become lazy to prostrate to Allah and thank Him for all these wonderful things He has bestowed upon us.. even though we are in no position to deserve so much, yet it' is plenty and yet we're unthankful.. Khair, there was so much to read from Wallflower :-P i'm an avid reader and it was good to know how your Eid went by. mash'Allah you guys have a fantastic ambient there in Brunei which I did not expect. It's not like that even in Pakistan which is sad. Everyone here is just so into themselves that they hardly bother even sharing greetings with their neighbors. I went to a store on Eid day and I made sure I greeted anyone I came in contact with as "they" did not bother. My Eid was not much different than how it is in Dubai. I slept most of the time even though We have so many relatives here it all ended by 12 p.m for me and then I hit the sack and slept like a baby, as it is on Eid day it was very hot. There was humidity in the air and it was an unpleasant weather for the liking of Eid. Back to the basics now, even though its so hard to get out of the Ramadan routine.. I tend to sleep alot and do less work which has made my Father no less than a leader of the Hitler regime :-P. He shouts on top of his voice, as though he's addressing a regiment haha.

Divine, we shall remember you in our prayer's inshAllah. What is it that you've got to study FULL time that you cannot DEVOTE or SHED a few moments of your precious minutes on this forum :-P. I myself am a very useless guy. I do not study, well my father took away those rights from me and now I'm preeeety close to fleeing soon insh'Allah lol. Cheers!

Alhumdullilah.

We do miss your absence Jamaicanbreed. Its only that you were gone for just a couple of days whereas wallflower was gone for pretty much the whole of last month. Although I noticed no one missed me while I was away... :P But that's fine. I sorta live as a ghost anyway.

I wish for a day when I can celebrate Eid in a muslim country or atleast a muslim surrounding with a large group of muslims. It really doesn't feel like a day of celebration here at all. Apart from the little time in the mosque for the eid prayer, which its nice to see so many muslims at, its like any other day. Some people even have to go to work n stuff.

It does sound amazing how its all very celebratory in Brunei. I went over to my Malaysian friend's place a good few years ago for eid and it was amazing how many people were at his place, his house was completely packed full of people and everyone was busy preparing food and stuff for all the many guests and he said this would go on for three weeks and every Malaysian family would have a big party at their house. It was fabulous. I wish other muslims celebrated eid with such fervour too. Only thing is all the malaysian folks seem to stick to themselves so I was never really invited again... :(

Anyway, I guess it is very important that we should celebrate eid properly with our families no matter how small they are. Like even its just your parents or wife and kids, you need to make them feel like its a day of happiness and celebration. Make good food, go out on a picnic, spend time together, them them to any muslim event that's taking place. I see people here kinda say how boring we've make Eid for our children here. They see how for Christmas the whole city is transformed with lights and people singing and all and everyone buys each other lots of gifts and they have huge dinners and all, while on the other hand for Eid, they have to wake up early, then go to a crowded mosque and sit there for an hour to listen to the Qutba which they usually don't understand as its in Arabic or even if its in English, its not given by someone whom english is their first language and its usually not very easy to follow. Then after the eid prayer they get home and that's about it. The family then just sits around and watches TV like on any other day. Then the children question how come Christmas is so fun and exciting but Eid is so boring and uneventful... Its a major problem among muslims here.

@Divine, you're like a part of our little family here so we'll never forget you and will remember you in our Duaas inshallah. Good luck with your studies, may Allah (swt) make it easy for you. And do make sure to take the little time to vent out your thoughts here whenever you get the chance cuz we love to listen to you!

I'll be starting back in college i.e. in a hospital too from next monday. I have to move to a different city and I'll be living with this guy in an apartment arranged by the college for the next four weeks. Atleast the guy I'll be sharing the apartment with is a muslim (although I hope he eats halal meat!) which was a bit of a relief. Its all very poorly organised so I have no clue yet whom I'll be under in the hospital and even then its really frustrating here being a student in a hospital as you spend most of your time chasing around doctors who're usually pretty uninterested in teaching you anything and most of it feels like a massive waste of time while at the same time there is sooooo much I need to learn and become good at, its really scary! So please make dua for me guys that this final year goes easy for me and is not too big of a challenge. I'm really fretting it!!

Anyway, I've rambled on quite a lot so take care guys. May Allah (swt) accept all the prayers and struggle we made during the past month and may he continue to bless us with his infinite mercy and blessings in the following months too. Don't forget to do the 6 fasts of Shawwal too! I still have to start doing them, which I plan to from next week inshallah and I also have to make up for the one fast I missed when I was travelling. Remember me in your prayers!

Salaams!

DIVIIIIIINNNNNE!!! Hi back atcha~ ;) Nooooooo! Please don't leave us entirely yeah. It's great to focus and all but if it gets too much, I at least wouldn't mind listening if you ever needed to rant, for example. :D Oh wow! I miss being a full time student. All the best with that, girl and take care as well! :D

Bro Jamaicanbreed, shukran for the entertaining read! Alhamdulillahi Rabbil 'Alameen~ I truly feel blessed to be born and raised here and I am more thankful of that fact after I realized how much I'd taken it for granted back then when I used to wish that I was anywhere but here. Astaghfirullah al'azhiim...

Ooh, my bro-in-law was just telling one of my cousins who came by yesterday how hot the weather in Dubai is right now. 40 degrees, was it?

Bro @tracingspirals, you WERE missed! :D You came back just as I disappeared for my " solitary retreat" that I didn't get to welcome you back or ask you how it all was (got the gist of it from reading the posts I missed). I think that I have somehow lost a bit of my social skills after confining myself and not having contact with the outside world most of the time because I feel like I don't have much to say nowadays.

Yes, that's how us Malays celebrate Eid. I was surprised to find out a couple of years back that for most Muslims outside of Southeast Asia, Eid ul Fitr usually lasted for only a day and that they'd go out for picnics (which I've always wanted to experience someday insha Allah) and that Eid ul adha is more festive. As for us, that usually just lasted a day where we gather as a family(immediate and extended), eat and distribute the portions of aqiqah meat where we'll end up eating meat at home for the next couple of days usually. Hehehe. I've always loved finding out about the differences in culture. So fascinating, masha Allah~

Ooh, I do wish you all the best on the soon to be new chapter of your life. I hope that Divine and yourself won't disappear too long. Do keep sharing yeah~ :)

Alhamdulillah, I have always keep those whom I know in my du'as and insha Allah, I will continue to do so. I am thankful that the list is quickly getting longer recently. Have a blessed Friday everyone! :)

OMG! you guys share essays :D i feel like my post is the shortest :D

@jamaicanbreed...... i disagree with you! you have to think positively, if in shopping centre no one greets you that doesn't mean the no body bothers to care :) Muslims are mirrors for each other according to hadeeth! think positive and have positive responces :) by the way i think in your city people might be confused due to early eid :P

@tracingspirals....... nice to know you are becoming a doctor bro. i will also be a doctor in near future insh'allah!

@sis divine ...... yours and mine feeling about "education" is kinda same....... more than 15 minutes of constant study i get bored! hope you will overcome that :P

see you guys later.....*jumma mubarak*

:salaam: guys, i'm back from my little trip.

everything went well, except for the hotel part...

not that the hotel was bad, but staying alone all the time at a place you don't know at all, is...

it made me sick!!!
lemme give ya an example: walking is actually not one of my favourite activities, but yesterday (last day of my trip) i had a two hour walk, which in my case is a tremendous amount of time, Subhan'Allah.

did i already mention that i didn't like the hotel thing

--------

thanks again for your duas everyone, may Allahu Ta'ala be pleased with you, even if you forgot.

jazakum Allahu khair.

Wa'alaikumsalam~

@freedomlover lol! Good thing that this is not an essay competition! :D My apologies if my entries are a tad long at times. There are times when I just couldn't stop talking and I guess the same goes to typing. ^_^ I believe that as well, by the way. Being positive is the way to go even though there are moments when one forgets to fill one's thoughts with good and positive things.

@nairu Welcome back, bro! I am jealous! I haven't been out of the island for...4 years now! *gasps* Hotels are great but there are some which just dampens the holiday mood. Where did you go, if you don't mind my asking? :)

Asalaam Alae'kum...

Fantastic reads in this thread. :-) I've been good Alhumdullilah, I hope you all are well too insh'Allah.

@Tracingspiral, from the looks of it I reckon you're not that glad with your academic situation. Is it due to the fact that you do not wish to become a Doctor or is it due to your personality of being an introvert is it that you face so much hurdles. may Allah make everything easy for you insh'Allah and may you succeed in whatever is meant for you for the rightful. Insh'Allah.

@Wall.flower, I'm sorry to have copied your trend of using the "@" and referring to different users lol. It's just very direct. No confusion whatsoever. I hope you do not have a copyright infringements happening. Haha. From the looks of it and by your TAD long essays and from previous reads it is quite clear your background is of the sort from journalism. Well, abit closer maybe.

@nairu, I've read a few of your posts too, you're very limited on words. It's like as if your paid for every word you write. Maybe you're not much of a talker. Let's get to know each other people. insh'Allah become UNITED with each other and be well wishers for each other.

There has been alot of rain happening here in Pakistan, well in my part of the country that's Mardan (it's a city very close to Peshawar, come's in between ways to Peshawar and Islamabad) besides that in Islamabad, Lahore & Karachi it has been raining pretty heavily. I hope this rain brings good tiding insh'Allah and may Allah save us from any sorts of natural calamities that might occur. insh'Allah. I do not do much of anything throughout my entire day, just daily chores. Father's chores. I do wish sometimes I had continued my studies but My father never allowed me to it due to his consistent blackmailing. Tales will come with time I shall update you all as to what case scenario I am facing.

@Freedomlover, whats happening at your end bro. I hope all is well, you're my Pakistani compatriot lol. That is the reason I am referring to you in the end, no hard feelings bro. For starts, someone guess my name as well or I'll just give it out :-P... but here's a hint. My name is of a 7th-century Islamic military leader.

may Allah keep you all in his hifzo-emaan. Insh'Allah.

Alhumdullilah.

thanks for your kind words guys, but i was actually referring to a former post where i asked you to include me into your duas. i explained the issue here.

you can't really call it a holiday, since i had to work :D

@bro jamaicanbreed,

i only talk when it is absolutely needed, 'cause i'm afraid of saying something unnecessary or wrong, but if you have any explicit questions feel free to ask, i'll give my best to explain the matter in extensive depth.

regarding your name, here is a wild guess:

husayn ?

@sis wallflower,

Wallahi you don't need to be jealous, it was a working trip for a job i applied for. Alhamdulillah and Subhan'Allah it went good, Insha'Allahu Ta'ala i'll get the job and help my family in these hard times.

holiday is planned for october, Insha'Allahu Ta'ala engagement is knocking at my door. :D

@bro freedomlover,

i was not far away from my hometown - about 50km - as i mentioned before i had to work there quite early and didn't want to travel that much, so i stayed in a hotel.

@jamaicanbreed nice to know you live in mardan. i have visited it several times. i hope that you have no hard times living there because its quite near to Bajur and waziristan..... :)
it has been raining for three days on and off in my city. i'm really enjoying it.
as for your name.........ummmm.....may be Tariq or Qasim.......but i will go for Qasim!
so you don't study, you do business? i didn'y understand it in your post :)
my english is not much mature so i don't write long posts like you guys :) and i am also very bad at explaining things so i work on "simpler the better".

its been a while trainman(i forgot his complex malay name), arbitrage, allahismyrefuge and many others are out of scene! lets see when they come up again!

Tariq [7th Century Muslims conquered Spain , Tariq bi Ziyaad ] singa eh rora ? u mentioned Mardan so i can safely assume you're Pashtun.. This is Passer By from Islamabad

Pls do not be offended by what i say:- I know fathers can be annoying at times but he is still a father.. my advise is to refrain from any negativity in this regards [esp on forums] I pray that may God Almighty solve any issues you may have with your parents & may He give you the means to help, honor & respect them Insha Allah.. Asalaam Alae'kum...

Hope you're all pleasant just like Myself :-P. I'm a tad extra pleasant as I had Pulao and Chicken to eat so. Don't mind me if I brag alot today haha.

@Freedomlover, yes Mardan is a fine place to live in. It's the Chief Minister of Khyber Pukhtun Khwa's home city so it's pretty safe and he's done a great deal for his people. It's very normal here except for the abnormal issues we Pukhtun people create for ourselves at times.

@Passer By. Khair de rora. Umeed ba kom Ta ba hum kha ey :-) .. (To other forum readers, I just wrote to him in our native language "Pushto" hope you're fine and I'm well too. As he has turned out to be a Pukhtun as well. Where bout in Islamabad are you and what is it that you do? Thank you for your prayers but My situation is rather uneasy. It's complicated and, untamed.

@Nairu, Your guess is wrong and yes You're very limited :-P you're like a Special Edition release lol. Very limited in numbers. Haha.

@Divine, if I am not mistaken I've mentioned My name previously on this post but no one has actually read the whole topic from page 1 to present :-P for I have done it. You're very right on My name, i'm proudly named Khalid Khan, but I prefer Khalid.. Do not believe in the Khan'ism term. It's used for wrong purposes now. I am Muhammad Khalid. Cheers! You are Saba-ah :-P. that's "Tomorrow" in Pushto. Lol.

Btw, why are you lot all so discreet about your locations. Infact its about most of the things. I only know a few of your locations. I'm in Mardan, Pakistan. Have a pleasant day all.

Alhumdullilah.
